What is the difference between an IP-based license and a key-based license?

Solution

There's no difference between IP-based and key-based licenses in how the license works.

The only difference between these license types is the way each of them is activated. Therefore, the IP-based licenses are registered per an IP address while key-based are registered using an activation key.

There is also a slight difference when running the registration command but it's minor. Please, refer to the TuxCare Documentation for additional information.
