KernelCare responses with the "HTTP Error 401: Unauthorized" error during update

Issue

There is the error output during the update:

[root@hostname ~]# kcarectl --update
Downloading updates
HTTP Error 401: Unauthorized: https://patches.kernelcare.com/patches/K20221123_02/9422188f3cf4fe5e69062d93417837b713f03ebc/8/kpatch.bin

Environment

• Any OS supported by KernelCare

Solution

1. Check the KernelCare license status on the server:

kcarectl --license-info

2. If there is an output like the below:

No valid key-based license found

or like this one:

Your trial license for the IP <server's IP address> expired on <date>

3. Make sure that you have the valid license in your CLN client area and try to register your server using your KernelCare license key:

/usr/bin/kcarectl --register KEY

Cause

The issue can be caused by the license expiration or removing the affected server from CLN.
