Issue
Memory issues were reported on several servers, and it was suspected that a TuxCare-related component might be the cause.
Environment
- KernelCare
Solution
The doctor’s report was reviewed, and no crash logs were found under /var/crash, indicating no direct KernelCare-related crashes. However, SSL-related errors were identified in /var/log/kcarectl.log, showing certificate verification failures when attempting to reach TuxCare’s ePortal.
At this stage, there are no indications that the KernelCare service itself is malfunctioning. The client was advised to verify the service’s status and functionality by running the following commands:
kcarectl -u
systemctl status kcare.service If the service appears faulty, the following steps were recommended to restart and recheck it:
systemctl restart kcare.service
systemctl status kcare.service
kcarectl --doctor Additionally, the client was asked to share details on how the high memory usage was identified (logs, screenshots, or system metrics) to assist in determining whether KernelCare is contributing to the reported memory behavior. The investigation remains ongoing pending further data.
